Apex Legends News: Marked Midseason and ALGS

Apex Legends’ September midseason patch affects loot, long-range weapons, maps and ranked ladders. EA also announced a PC anti-cheat transition, while ALGS Split 2 Playoffs bring 40 teams to Las Vegas later in October.

Marked Split 2 resets the ranked race and refreshes loot

Respawn’s 14 September Marked midseason notes say Split 2 began on 15 September. The patch adjusts Legend balance and loot availability, buffs three long-range weapons, and includes more than 150 map quality-of-life fixes, with substantial work on World’s Edge.

The same notes list Ranked Ladder 2 for 29 September–4 October and Ladder 3 for 6–11 October, followed by further weekly ladders through 1 November. EA separately announced that PC moves to Javelin Anti-Cheat effective 29 September; the notice says enforcement applies across platforms for detected prohibited behavior.

Ranked ladders, maps and anti-cheat

  • Check the in-game Ranked screen for your current ladder, entry window and map rotation. The patch notes list World’s Edge, Olympus and Broken Moon for Ranked and Pubs during this split.
  • EA says unauthorized controller hardware/software detection is active across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2. Use supported input and avoid third-party macros or automation that can trigger enforcement.

ALGS Year 6 Split 2 Playoffs

  • 40 teams; 29 Oct–1 Nov at Orleans Arena, Las Vegas; $2 million prize pool.
  • Format: round-robin groups, double elimination and Match Point Finals. The official competition page is the source for team qualification and ticket updates.
