Destiny 2 News: Update 9.7 and Guardian Checklist

Update 9.7 is the final major patch; hotfixes can follow

Bungie’s 9 June Update 9.7.0 notes describe the release as the final major Destiny 2 patch, while explicitly allowing for smaller maintenance patches and hotfixes afterward. It includes changes across activities, rewards, raids, dungeons and the Monument of Triumph update.

The later 9.7.0.3 update on 7 July increased Vanguard and Crucible Ops reputation and fixed several Crucible and Trials issues. Bungie’s current public news feed checked for this page showed later 2026 posts focused on Marathon rather than a new Destiny 2 seasonal roadmap.

Activities, power progression and community events

• Because no new seasonal pass timetable was found in the current official Destiny 2 news feed, confirm active event cards, Eververse offers and activity modifiers in the Director before planning a weekly reset route.
• Bungie’s competition license allows community organizers to run Destiny competitions under its terms. That is different from a publisher-operated professional league; review the license before organizing an event.

Destiny 2 esports status

• No Bungie-run 2026 esports tournament schedule was found in the official pages checked.
• Community tournaments may operate under Bungie’s competition license. Their brackets, prizes and eligibility are organizer-specific.
