Fortnite News: Fortnitemares 2026 and Competitive Play
Fortnitemares is Fortnite’s main October update, with horror-themed content rolling through several modes. Epic has also confirmed a standalone FNCS Solo event for October, but its match schedule and format were still pending in the latest competitive announcement checked.
Fortnitemares 2026 begins across three Fortnite modes
Epic’s 1 October Fortnitemares announcement says the Halloween event spreads through Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload during October. It features Nightmare Neighborhood, Freddy Krueger and the Bone Rattler SMG, with additional horror characters and cosmetics arriving over the month.
Epic previously scheduled a standalone FNCS Solo tournament after the Global Championship in October. The official competitive post said the schedule and format would be announced later; no match times or prize details are added here without that follow-up.
Season quests, cosmetics and ranked readiness
- Fortnitemares content may roll out in stages. Check the in-game Quests and event panels for each item’s live start/end time and reward requirements rather than assuming every collaboration is available on day one.
- For ranked players, review the active Battle Royale season and current FNCS rules separately: cosmetic event quests do not affect FNCS eligibility, region lock or tournament scoring.
FNCS October Solo event
- Epic confirmed a new standalone FNCS solos tournament for October 2026, following the Global Championship.
- Exact dates, format, qualification path and prize information were not in the official schedule update checked. Follow Fortnite Competitive for the next announcement.
