Overwatch News: September Balance, Battle Pass and OWCS
The September patch cycle includes D.Mon tuning, bug fixes and a three-week Junkrat’s Loot Hunt. Blizzard also delayed the return of Unvaulted Passes to Season 5, which matters to players waiting for legacy cosmetics.
D.Mon hotfix and Junkrat’s Loot Hunt shape September
Blizzard’s 17 September hotfix reduced D.Mon’s armor and adjusted her Fusion Repeater and Propulsors. The 8 September patch introduced Junkrat’s Loot Hunt, scheduled for 12–29 September, plus additional hero balance changes.
In its Season 4 midcycle post, Blizzard said Unvaulted Passes would move from the Season 4 midseason update to the start of Season 5 so QA could test the feature. No full mechanics or final release details were included in that notice.
Battle Pass and returning cosmetics
- The current Battle Pass Revamp is live, but Unvaulted Passes were delayed to the beginning of Season 5 in Blizzard’s published update. Do not assume a legacy pass is currently purchasable until it appears in the client.
- For balance-sensitive roles, revisit D.Mon’s 17 September hotfix values and current hero patch notes. Replay codes from the 8 September patch remain available according to Blizzard’s hotfix notice.
OWCS Stage 3 and World Finals
- Stage 3 regular-season weekends: 10–11, 17–18 and 24–25 October; regional playoffs: 30 October–1 November.
- OWCS World Finals are scheduled for 2–6 December. Check the regional league page for brackets and broadcast times.
